HSA First Year Rep
The History Students’ Association is looking for a First Year Rep! We are looking for a U1 History student in their first year at McGill, or a U0 student taking at least one HIST course and is seriously considering becoming a History major. This is a great way to get involved in the HSA and meet other History students but with less commitment than an executive position during the transition into university. It’s a flexible position that allows for insight into how the department, students’ association, and various executive positions function to get a better sense of History at McGill. The deadline for applications is TUESDAY OCT 9 AT 8PM. Please do not hesitate to contact the HSA President, Rachel Almuli, at mcgill.hsa.president@gmail.com if you have any questions!
Got historical trivia knowledge and nowhere to show it? Well, the wait is over, because the HSA is back with its first trivia night of the year! Put together a team, let us know you’re coming through the google form, and come out October 11th at 7pm to flex your historical knowledge and possibly win some prizes!
Join the Office of the Principal in Bicentennial Preparations!

In 2021, McGill University will commemorate its 200th anniversary. The Bicentennial is an opportunity for the McGill community to come together and celebrate the university’s history, our rich and diverse community, and to launch our third century. The Office of the Principal sincerely invites all students to join us in the preparations leading up to the celebrations. We will be holding town halls for the student body to share their ideas, visions and initiate a long-term conversation about the Bicentennial and our shared future. Two town halls will be held downtown, in Leacock 232 from 4pm to 5:30pm on Wednesday, September 26th and Tuesday, October 16th. At Macdonald campus, join us on Thursday, October 4, at 11:45am, in CC1-163. Snacks, coffee and refreshments will be provided (Bring-Your-Own-Mug!) on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are unable to attend, or would like to correspond in the meanwhile, please feel free to share your suggestions, ideas and concerns at bicentennial.students@mcgill.ca.
