Here are the main events to look forward to this week. You are all invited to our annual end of the semester HSA Wine & Cheese and launch of this year’s Historical Discourses.

The History Students Association is offering brand new apparel this year. We have samples in our office. You can write to mcgill.hsa.communications@gmail.com if you would like to try on a size.

The design was created by a fellow student Sajdeep Soomal.

LAUNCH // Historical Discourses – Volume XXX.I

When: April 8, 2016, 6 pm
Where: Arts 160

Historical Discourses is an annual open-accessed peer-reviewed undergraduate academic journal based out of McGill University. It serves as a scholarly forum for undergraduate students at McGill to critically engage with a range of intellectual and public debates through historical inquiry.

Join us on April 8th at 6pm at ARTS 160 ((swanky)) for a wine and cheese to celebrate the launch of volume XXX.I of Historical Discourses! Meet the editors, authors, and students who have made publication possible, and pick up a FREE copy of the journal!!

**** We’ve had to split this volume into two issues, so stay tuned for volume XXX.II (publication expected at the end of the summer/early fall 2016)

Harf – Journal Launch!

Harf – A Journal of South Asian Studies is very excited to invite you to the launch of McGill’s first South Asian Studies journal! We are an interdisciplinary journal publishing essays and photography pertaining to the literature, history, and religions of South Asia.
Come pick up a free copy of the journal, meet the writers featured in this issue, and talk to fellow students and professors as we approach the end of the semester.

We will also be serving FREE samosas and chai! See you there!

Call for Submissions

Summer Research Fellowship Opportunity 

The Museum of Jewish Montreal—a not-for-profit organization that collects, maps, and shares the history of Canada’s oldest Jewish community—is seeking qualified students to participate in our summer Research Fellowship program. Beginning May 24th  and running through August 15th , the program is designed to help university students interested in pursuing museum careers acquire the skills they will need to work successfully in the cultural and heritage sectors. Participants will gain professional experience in curating exhibits, conducting oral history research, and leading guided tours around the city in English and/or French.

Applicants must be eligible for Young Canada Works.
Applications due Friday, April 15 at 9am
Fellowship duration: May 24th to August 15th
Compensation: $10.75/hr
